Please help us raise money for children with Burkitt's Lymphoma in Africa!

What are we fundraising for?

We need $50,000 to build a clinic for children with a type of cancer called Burkitt's Lymphoma. Burkitt's lymphoma is prevalent in Tanzania and it is fatal if not treated but curable with treatment. The clinic will be built in the small village of Shirati, Tanzania. The people of this village are very poor and the average income is about $1/day.

The Burkitt's Lymphoma Center will provide free care to all children, including medication, chemotherapy, and other services. The center will also provide housing for the children and their families during treatment.

The Burkitt's Lymphoma Center will be run by Dr. Esther Kawira, a U.S. trained medical doctor that has lived in Shirati, Tanzania for over 23 years. Dr. Esther is a regional Burkitt's Lymphoma expert for the Tanzanian Department of Health because of her expertise in treating patients.
